This recent project gave us a chance to do a large sign carving and try out a new process creating custom newel post caps. The sign with the lighting required substantial posts and it was impossible to find something off the rack that would fit. So the solution was to create these pieces on the CNC.
The size of the newel post cap needed to fit the post resulted in these custom caps.
These Newel posts were designed to sit on top of each post. Using the CNC we carve these in two pieces and glued them together.
We can match many ornamental pieces and create them very cost effectively on a repeatable scale. An this is just for signs. We can recreate architectural corbels and appliques making restoration projects inside and outside affordable and durable.
